eco: R Package for Ecological Inference in 2x2 Tables
نویسندگان
چکیده
eco is a publicly available R package that implements the Bayesian and likelihood methods proposed in Imai, Lu, and Strauss (Forthcominga) for ecological inference in 2×2 tables as well as the method of bounds introduced by (Duncan and Davis, 1953). The package fits both parametric and nonparametric models using either the Expectation-Maximization algorithms (for likelihood models) or the Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithms (for Bayesian models). For all models, the individual-level data can be directly incorporated into the estimation whenever such data are available. Along with in-sample and out-of-sample predictions, the package also provides a functionality which allows one to quantify the effect of data aggregation on parameter estimation and hypothesis testing under the parametric likelihood models. This paper illustrates the usage of eco with several real data examples that are also part of the package.

The aggregate association index and its links with common measurements of association in a 2x2 table: An analysis of early New Zealand gendered voting data
The analysis of aggregate, or marginal, data for contingency tables is an increasingly important area of statistics, especially in political science and epidemiology. Aggregation often exists due to confidentiality issues or by source of the data itself. Aggregate data alone makes drawing conclusions about the true association between categorical variables difficult, especially in dealing with ...

This paper describes the core features of the R package mmeta, whichimplements the exact posterior inference of odds ratio, relative risk, and risk difference given either a single 2 × 2 table or multiple 2 × 2 tables when the risks within the same study are independent or correlated.
متن کاملProcessing Ecological Data in R with the mefa Package
mefa is an R package for multivariate data handling in ecology and biogeography. It provides object classes to represent the data coded by samples, taxa and segments (i.e., subpopulations, repeated measures). It supports easy processing of the data along with relational data tables for samples and taxa. An object of class ‘mefa’ is a project specific compendium of the dataset and can be easily ...

متن کاملBayesian and Likelihood Inference for 2 3 2 Ecological Tables: An Incomplete-Data Approach
Ecological inference is a statistical problem where aggregate-level data are used to make inferences about individual-level behavior. In this article, we conduct a theoretical and empirical study of Bayesian and likelihood inference for 2 2 ecological tables by applying the general statistical framework of incomplete data. We first show that the ecological inference problem can be decomposed in...
